62 - Strasburg Clips TV 44-39 (12-12-61)

BOLIVAR - Strasburg's Tigers (2-2) pulled away in the final minutes of play last night to down Tusky Valley (0-2) for their second straight victory after 20 losses in a row.  There was never more than 3 points separating the teams, save for the opening minutes of the game, until Strasburg went into a semi-stall near the end of the game.  Trailing, Tusky Valley was forced to come out after the ball and Strasburg responded by dumping in several baskets to pull away.  Both teams were cold from the field, but fairly hot at the foul line.  Strasburg made 11 of 44 action shots for 25 percent and 17 of 20 foul attempts for a very good 85 percent.  Tusky Valley made only 16 of 67 field goal attempts for 24 percent, but made 12 of 20 at the bonus line.  Coach Warren Binder got double figure scoring performances from 3 tigers, including Sophomore John Peters.  Peters led the Tigers with 14 points.  Jim Clymer had 11 and Adrian Edie notched 10.  John Ferren was high for Tusky Valley with 15 counters.  He is also a Sophomore.  The Strasburg Reserves(0-4); however, lost to the Tuscarawas Valley Reserves (1-1) 33-22.
