61 - TV In 78-71 Come-From-Behind Win Over Dalton (12-31-60)
BOLIVAR - Tuscarawas Valley (5-1) climaxed a come-from-behind performance here last night by defeating the Dalton Razorbacks (0-6). Dalton moved in front 10-0 as the game got underway and retained the lead post by 26-18 at the end of the quarter. But, in the second stanza, the Trojans outscored the invaders 24-10 to knot the count 40-40 and took a 60-59 lead at the end of the third period. All 5 Trojan starters were in double figures with Ron Lake leading the way on 28 points. Al Cerett connected for 14 points, Mike Widder and Jim Studer 13 apiece, and Bill Huth, making his first start of the campaign, tallied 10 points. Larry Zuercher led Dalton with 24 points. Robin Kratzer added 11 and Kenneth Huebner and Larry McCullough 10 apiece. Tusky Valley fired in 32 of 75 field attempts for 40 percent, while Dalton meshed 29 of 65 for 45 percent. The Trojansmade 14 of 22 free throws and Dalton 13 of 23. Tusky Valley Reserves (2-4) picked up the win over the Dalton Reserves 29-23.
