STRASBURG FACES UPHILL STRUGGLE WITH YOUNG TEAM THIS SEASON - Strasburg High's 1960-1961 basketball team is due for a battle against heavy odds this season.  The Tigers have one of the youngest combines in the county, listing only one Senior on its 11-man squad.  The remainder of the team is comprised of 2 Juniors, 5 Sophomores and 3 Freshmen.  Junior Jim Clymer is the only veteran.  But much to the surprise and chagrin of Coach Warren Binder and Tiger fans, they came up with a performance beyond the fondest expectations in the opening game this week - a 54-52 overtime victory over a veteran dominated Fairless combination.  Every game will be an acid test for Binder's youngsters.  The next big game is Tuesday night when they invade Midvale in a non-league encounter.  Binder, in his second year at the Strasburg helm, recently huddled with some of his key performers above KNEELING - Adrian Edie (left), Binder and Vic Gessner.  STANDING - Charles Himes (left), Ray Deible, the lone Senior, Jim Clymer, Dan Sliffe and Don Wallick.  Last year the Tigrs ended with a 7-11 regular season record, and defeated Midvale in its initial tournament game.  Gone from the squad is all-county performer Frank Wallick, who scored 306 points, Bill Seese with 210, Dale Liggett with 169 and Don Grove with 169.  However, young Don Wallick, a 6-1 Freshman has apparently stepped into his graduated brother's shoes and is rated among the top young prospects on the squad.  Binder terms the squad "a group of excellent workers with a splendid attitude," and adds, "with some hard work and determination they could pull a few surprises before the season is over."  He adds this is "pretty much an 'if' year."  New additions to Strasburg's schedule this season are Fairless, East Canton and Hiland.
