61 - Tusky Just Gets By Fairless 71-70 (2-13-61)
TUSCARAWAS - A field goal by Chet Summers with 10 seconds remaining to play gave the Tuscarawas Broncos (12-6) a narrow nod over invading Fairless here Saturday night. As a result Tuscarawas will enter this week's Tuscarawas County Class "A" League Tournament on a winning streak of 7 games. The score was tied at 69-69 when Fairless' Larry Spurgeon connected on a free throw to give the Falcons a 70-69 lead with 15 seconds remaining in the game. Summers then hit on his goal to provide the winning margin. Summers and Ben Metzger led the Broncos with 16 points apiece. Vic Vesco added 11. Paul Slayman who missed a free throw when time had elapsed and an opportunity to send the game into overtime, scored 12 points for Fairless. Coluey, Larry Wenger and Glen Troyer led the Falcon attack with 15 points each. Fairless; however, won the Reserve game over Tuscarawas (10-7) 48-46.
