61 - Midvale Surprises Conotton Valley 73-53 (1-16-61)

MIDVALE - In a mild surprise the Midvale Blue Devils (8-3) had a relative easy time with Conotton Valley (5-4) Saturday night, posting a 20 point victory.  Victors over the second best club in Harrison County this season, the Blue Devils now face the top running team in the neighboring county as they square off with undefeated Freeport Tuesday.  The Red Raiders, who will be host, will take a brilliant 12-0 record against the Devils.  Midvale led the outset and was never headed with Conotton coming within 10 points on one occasion after the opening minutes.  Neal Beans led a well-balanced attack with 23 points, while Rick Belknap potted 20 and Warren Leggett 14.  Russell Garer paced Conotton with 16 points and Jerry Rippeth hit 13.  Starting the night off, the Conotton Reserves whipped the Midvale Reserves (7-4) 35-29.
