61 - Make It 16 Straight For Strasburg As They Lose To Waynedale 65-44 (2-8-61)
STRASBURG - Strasburg (1-16) continued to take its lumps last night. The Tigers suffered their 16th straight seback at the hands of the Waynedale Golden Bears. The Tigers led throughout the first period until the Bears deadlocked the count 12-12 at the end of the quarter. In the second quarter the 2 teams played "CAT AND MOUSE," but at the tail end Strasburg comitted several turnovers and Waynedale turned them into 2-pointers and led 28-22 at halftime. Strasburg could do nothing right the remainder of the way as the Bears won going away. Jerry Haskins led the victory with 21 points, while Bill Lobel tallied 17 and Ed Franks 17. Jim Clymer and Adrian Edie topped the Tigers with 14 and 10 points, respectively. Strasburg made 4 of 13 foul shots and 20 of 60 field attempts for 33 percent, while the Bears hit 25 goals in 75 tries for 33 percent and 15 of 27 free throws. Waynedale Reserves also tripped up the Strasburg Reserves (8-8) 34-24.
