61 - Lautenschleger And Mast Of BalticToo Much for Keene 63-57 (1-4-61)

BALTIC - Paced by the twin scoring efforts of Larry Lautenschleger and Gary Mast the Baltic Eagles (8-4) defeated invading Keene 68-57.  The Coshocton County crew used a man-to-man defense in an effort to stop the Eagles, but it didn't slow Lautenschleger and Mast who popped in 21 points apiece to account for well over half the Eagles' final total.  Willis Mullet came through with a sterling performance on the  boards for the Eagles in  the second half as they came from behind in the third period to take the lead and move to the victory.  In the third quarter Baltic slowed down the game quite a bit and it resulted in some easy baskets.  The Eagles forged into the lead midway in the period after being behind 15-10 and 28-24 at the end of the first 2 stanzas.  The count stood 41-36 in favor of the Eagles going into the final period.  Jim Horn led Keene with 16 points, while Walt Karr tallied 14 and Sam Lower 10.  Baltic connected on 20 of 42 shots from the field for 47.6 percent and made 23 of 31 free throws.  Keene ended the night with a 33.9 percent mark when it made 18 of 53 goal attempts and 21 charity tosses in 29 tries.  The Baltic Reserves (8-3) just edged the Keene Reserves 41-40.
