MEET THE GARAWAY PIRATES - Two regulars and another letterman make the Garaway squad of new Coach Glenn Bower a power to be reckened with again this season as the Bucs seek to repeat as county league tourney, sectional and district runner-up champions.  Back from last year's fine combine, which lost only two of 22 games, are Tom Andreas (6-2) and Bob Raber (6-2) both starters and Bill Yakley (6-1) all Seniors.  Non-lettermen seeking berths are Dan Bleininger (6-1), Roy Yoder (5-9), and Jim Zehnder (5-9), all Juniors and Seiors Jarrett Gray (5-10), and Nick Smith (6-0).

MEET THE STONE CREEK PANTHERS - With only three lettermen in the fold, none of whom stands over 6 feet, rookie Coach Ken Lawhun and his Panthers nevertheless are hoping to improve on last year's first winless season in the school's history.  Some 18 youngsters are candidates for the squad, representing all but perhaps 5 to 10 male students in the school.  Winless since their next to last game in the county tourney in 1958 the Panthers have now gone through 25 games without a victory.  Returning lettermen include Gale Sauser and Larry Stephon, lettermen who led the team in scoring last year, but would-be Senior Larry Lorenz and his family moved to Canton last summer.  Other varsity candidates are Dale Lehman (6-0) Freshman, Jim Billman (5-9), Ed Wallace (5-9), Verle Endlich (6-1) Freshman, and Bob Hamilton (5-9) Junior.
