61 - Stone Creek Close But No Cigar As TV Wins Their 7th 59-51 (1-14-61)
STONE CREEK - Stone Creek (0-5) (3-10) is keeping its fan-flock on edge with its last ditch stands. Last night the Panthers were behind 47-31 going into the final period--and then proceeded to turn the supposed route into a red-hot duel as they outscored Tusky Valley (3-1) (7-2) 20-12 in the final period. But, the Trojan lead was too big to overcome. Mike Widder and Jim Studer shared scoring honors for the victorious Trojans with 15 points apiece. Ron Lake added 13. Gale Sauser collected 22 points for the Panthers, with Larry Stephon meshing 12. TV made 20 of 62 from the field for 32 percent and Stone Creek 17 of 45 for 38 percent. The Trojans made 19 of 27 free throws. Stone Creek connected 17 times in 32 tries from the charity stripe. Stone Creek (0-11) lost to Tuscarawas (6-2) 36-15 in the Reserve game.
