61 - Garaway Ends Season With Setback 71-66 By East Canton (2-13-61)



SUGARCREEK - Leading only once, Garaway High's Pirates (16-4) concluded their regular season schedule here Saturday night by bowing to East Canton (17-2).  East Canton, rated 15th in last week's Associated  Press high school poll, led all the way with the exception of one point in the fourth period when the Pirates went in front 59-56.  Tom Andreas poured in 31 points for Garaway and Bob Raber followed with 21, accounting for most of the Buc offensive.  All 5 Hornet starters hit in double figures.  Jack Knoch led the assault with 24 points, while Willie Stroud hit 14, Vic Mair 13 and Dick  Householder and Jay Smith 10 each.  East Canton hit on 27 of 65 field tries for 47 percent.  The Pirates meshed 28 of 75 for 36 percent.  Garaway Reserves (9-6) picked up another win by stopping the East Canton Reserves 35-29.
