61 - Turnovers (33) By Baltic Leads to 59-45 Loss At Warsaw (1-9-61)
WARSAW - The Baltic Eagles (8-5) plagued by fouls and passing miscues, suffered their fifth loss of the season here Saturday night when they bowed to Warsaw. The Eagles, who had a total of 33 turnovers, 19 in the first half, were only 4 points behind the hosts with 2:30 minutes to play, but started to get careless again, and Warsaw opened the victory margin. High-scoring aces Larry Lautenschleger and Gary Mast fouled out in the final period. Lautenschleger's action was limited throughout the game since he picked up his third personal in the third quarter. Another Eagle, Larry Oswald, who had snared 19 rebounds, sat out muchof the final period with 4 fouls. He and Dick Gerber led the Eagle scoringwith 11 points apiece. Finlely topped Warsaw with 17 points, while Wright scored 13, Holt 14 and Kilpatrick 12. Baltic made 17 of 47 from the field for 34 percent and Warsaw 23 of 50 goal attempts for a hot 46 percent. From the foul line the Eagles meshed 11 of 14, while Warsaw made 13 of 27. Baltic did not have the one-and-one in the second half. The Warsaw Reserves edged the Baltic Reserves (8-4) 36-34.
