61 - Port Garners Easy Win At Augusta 89-52 (12-3-60)

AUGUSTA - Port Washington (2-2) chalked up its second victory of the season as it dropped Augusta  on its home floor Friday.  The game was never close and Port ended the first period with a 10-point lead and finished the half with a 20-point advantage.  All five of the Purple Riders starting five hit double figures.  The big guns for Port Washington were Jim Bender who swished six field goals and eleven foul shots for 23 points and Bill Phillips who hit nine field attempts and two foul shots for 20 points.  Tony Nigro followed that with eight from the field and three from the foul line for 19 points.  Gary Gay scored 13 points and Jim Hannahs 12.  Crawford of Augusta hit for 22 points.  Port Washington attempted 35 foul shots and made 23 for 66 percent.  Augusta attepted 30 from the foul line and made 18 for 60 percent.
