63 - Midvale Makes It Two In A Row As They Down Killbuck 61-46 (11-24-62)
KILLBUCK - Midvale's Blue Devils (2-0) will take a perfect record into the den of the Strasburg Tigers Tuesday following their triumph here Saturday night. Tomorrow night's clash will be watched closely by other county teams as the game matches the defending county champion Devils against one of this year's favorites to pace the county league. After a minor scare in the first quarter when Killbuck took an 11-9 advantage, Midvale roared back to win going away. The Devils of Coach Pete Hilliard outscored the Bucks 17 to 19 in the 2nd quarter for a 26-21 halftime lead and then crushed the hosts 20 to 7 in the 3rd stanza for a commanding 46-28 lead going into the final period. Veterans Dean DeMattio and Bob Byers led the onslaught with 22 and 18 points respectively. Tom McPherson had 12. The Midvale Reserves (2-0) also remained undefeated as the buried the Killbuck Reserves 48-29.
