62 - Port Washington Routs Tusky Valley 9-2 (4-5-62)

PORT WASHINGTON - Exploding for 5 runs in the last of the second inning, the Port Washington Purple Riders (1-0) got their baseball season off to a flying start Thursday by trouncing Tusky Valley (0-2) here. Alvin Fillman (1-0) went all the way on the mound for Port Washington, allowing just 3 hits. Ken Burris (0-1) started for the Trojans, but was knocked out of the box. The Purple Riders picked up a total of 12 hits, each regular hitting safely. Tom Loader led the way with a perfect 3 for 3. Larry Laisure added a pair of safeties.
