62 - Gnaden Stops Midvale 3-1 (4-17-62)
SUGARCREEK - Dave Struchen (3-0) was in top form yesterday as he pitched his Gnadenhutten Indians (5-0) to a victory over Midvale (1-2) in the County Tournament. The 6-1 Senior went all the way, giving up but 3 hits, striking out 5 and hurling walkless ball. Neal Beans (1-2) went all the way in a losing effort for the Devils, being touched for 5 hits, 5 walks and fanning 8. Bill Davis, Struchen and Dick Shull drove in the runs for the Tribe. Davis with a double, Struchen a single and Shull with a perfectly-executed squeeze bunt. The Devils got their only run in the 5th inning on a single by Jim Anderson and a double by Mike Page.
