62 - Baltic Squeaks By Garaway 3-2 (4-5-62)
BALTIC - Baltic's Eagles (1-0) rallied for 2 runs in the last of the sixth to nip Garaway (1-1) here Thursday and capture a victory in its season opener. The Eagles scored first, plating a single run in the fourth inning, but the Pirates of Garaway went ahead 2-1 in the sixth. Baltic then collected a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning to come home the winner. Willis Mullet (0-0) and Huprich (1-0) shared the pitching chores for Baltic. Mullet started and lasted 5 1/3 innings, giving up 6 hits, fanning 10 and walking 4. Huprich came on in relief and pitched near perfect ball to get credit for the victory. Dan Bleininger (0-1) worked all the way for Garaway and was tagged for 7 hits and the loss. Huprich led the Baltic hitters with 3 hits in 3 at-bats, including a ringing double. Bleininger had 2 singles for the losers.
