62 - Garaway Slams Baltic 13-4 (4-24-62)

BALTIC - Dan Bleininer's 2-run double after 2 were out in the sixth inning broke up the game Tuesday as Garaway (3-2) ousted defending county champions Baltic (2-3).  Baltic started fast, netting one run in the first and a pair in the second  for a 3-0 lead.  Garaway came to life in the third for 5 runs on 4 walks, 2 errors and singles by John Spear and Tim Stevanus.  The Pirates crushed any hopes Baltic might have had in the sixth when Bleininger doubled with 2 men on in the sixth, pushing the score to 8-3.  The Pirates rubbed it in with 5 more runs in the final inning.  Bleininger went the route for Garaway, fanning 9 and walking 5.  He gave up 6 hits, all singles.  Stoufer led Baltic with a pair of hits.  Huprich (1-3) started for Baltic, but gave way to Mullet (1-0) in the third.  Combined they allowed 5 walks and gave up 8 hits.  The big batsmen for Garaway were Tim Stevanus with a pair of hits.  Bleininger and Russ Donalson both put the game away in the record books with 2 run home runs into the creek in the seventh frame.
