GNADENHUTTEN - Hitting better than 60 percent from the field in the 1st half and 55 percent for the evening, the Garaway Pirates (3-0) remained unbeaten with a triumph here Friday night.  In the nip-and-tuck 1st half, Garaway's basketeers held slim leads of 18-17 and 32-27 at the stops before breaking the game open in the 3rd, outscoring the hosts 14 to 6 for a 46-32 advantage at the next half.  Veteran Don Deetz led the assault for Coach Joe Richards's Bucs, canning 28 points, most of which came on outside maneuvers.  Fred Smith chipped in 11 points.  Gnaden's lone returning letterman, Bruce Kohl paced the Indians of Coach Oren Thompson with 16 points and led the board work.  The Tribe (0-3) dropped 21 of 57 action attempts for 36 percent as compared to 27 of 49 for Garaway.  The Indians rallied from a 20-marker deficit in the fading minutes to get within 12.  The Garaway Reserves (3-0) stayed with the Pirates' play by whipping the Gnadenhutten Reserves (2-1) 44-27.
