62 - Gnaden 8-6 Over Stone Creek Then Loses 7-5 To Newcomerstown (5-18-62)




GNADENHUTTEN - Coach Ted Martin's Gnadenhutten Indians (11-4) ended their season with a victory over Stone Creek last night in the first game of a twilight doubleheader.  The second contest, made up of Freshmen and Sophomores, went to Newcomerstown.  Dave Struchen (7-3) fired a route-going performance in the  first encounter.  Glenn Miller had 4 for 4 for the Indians to end the season with a prodigious .471 batting average.  Two of his hits last night were triples.  In the second contest, Keith Stoffer went all the way for the Trojans, striking out 11, walking 3 and giving up but 3 hits.  Jim Jenks (0-1) started for Gnaden, giving way to Don Garrett (0-0) in the 7th inning.
