62 - Strasburg Blanks Baltic 3-0 (4-6-62)
STRASBURG - Fine pitching continued to be the key to success as Strasburg's Tigers (2-0) nipped Baltic (1-1) Friday in a makeup game. Dave Dayton (1-0) hurled one-hit ball against the Eagles yesterday to follow in the footsteps of Jim Clymer (1-0) who twirled a one-hit shutout the day before. Huprich got the only one hit off Dayton and that came in the last inning. Dayton fanned 11. Huprich (1-1) worked all the way for Baltic, fanning 12, but giving up 7 hits. Frank Welling paced Strasburg with 3 hits. Ron Lab added a pair of singles. Strasburg broke the ice with a run in the third frame and then sewed it up in the sixth with a pair.
