Port Washington's Purple Riders (2-0) will move into next week's county tournament unbeaten following their triumph over Stone Creek (0-2) on Monday. A clutch pitching performance by Alvin Fillman (2-0) and timely hitting sparked the Riders of Coach Don Durham to the victory. Larry Laisure (0-0) started for Port, but was hit hard, allowing 3 hits and 3 runs in the first frame. Fillman took over the hill duties, going the final 6 frames and allowing but hit and one run. Ed Wallace (0-1) went the distance for Stone Creek, allowing 14 hits. Laisure led the Riders with 2 doubles and a pair of singles in as many trips. Tom Loader poked a double and 2 singles and Fillman had 2 safeties. Wallace collected 2 hits for the losers and Cliff Endlich had a hit.
