BALTIC - Sophomore Jeff Maxwell (1-0) pitched a strong 3-hitter to even their mark yesterday as he led the Broncos (1-1) to a nod over host Baltic (1-2). Maxwell was sailing along on a shutout until the final inning when he gave up his 2 walks. Huprich (1-2) took the loss for Baltic, striking out 10, walking 6 and giving up 4 hits. Making 7 putouts himself, Maxwell gave up a Home Run to Dick Gerber and a triple to Willis Millet. Bolen had a single. Jerry Grove smacked a 2-run Home Run in the opening inning to get Tusky off and running. Maxwell added a 2-run double and Jerry Schupp also had a 2-bagger.
