62 - Strasburg Routs Tusky Valley 13-3 (4-9-62)
BOLIVAR - After a shaky first inning, the Strasburg Tigers (3-0) settled down to roll over Tusky Valley (0-3) in a game on Monday night. Strasburg, ran into trouble in the last of the first inning as the Trojans came up with 3 runs off normally effective pitcher Jim Clymer (2-0). Clymer, who had allowed only one hit in his first start of the season, was touched for 3 in the initial frame last night. Strasburg, which netted one run in its half of the first, struck back with 2 to tie the score in the second. The Tigers added a run in third and then broke the game wide open with a 5-run fourth inning. Clymer worked the first 4 innings before giving way to Vic Gessner (0-0). Gessner pitched one inning and then Bob Mills (0-0) went the final 2. Dave Widder (0-2) worked all the way for Tusky Valley, giving up 11 hits and fanning 5. Strasburg hurlers struck out 10. Rocky Van Fossen led Strasburg at the plate with 4 hits and 6 runs-batted-in. Dan Sliffe had a pair of hits.
