STONE CREEK - There were a lot of cagers seeking their first starting roles in varsity play for Stone Creek's Panthers (0-1) last night when they bowed to Big Prairie-Lakeville. Going without a single letterman , Stone Creek had the usual first game jitters and mustered only five points in the first stanza and two in the third. The Panthers trailed 10-5 at the first stop and 39-22 at the half. Scoring only two points in the third, the Panthers were trailing 67-24 going into the finale. Junior Larry Lorenz led the Panthers with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Gale Sauser tallied 11. The Stone Creek Reserves (0-1) also lost to the Big Prairie-Lakeville Reserves 38-20. The Stone Creek Junior High Grades (1-0) did come up with a win earlier tonight by beating the Dundee Junior High Grades 24-18.
