60 - Gnaden Downs Newcomerstown 60-39 (11-28-59)

GNADENHUTTEN - The Gnadenhutten Indians (1-2) stepped into the Class AA ranks last night to take their first victory in three starts. They shellacked the Newcomerstown Trojans (0-1) . Making his debut as coach of the Trojans was Ted Martin, a former Indian athlete. It was the 20th straight defeat over a 2-year span for the Trojans who were 0-19 last season. All five starters tallied at least five points in the Gnadenhutten victory and Tribe Mentor Bob Gaume cleared the bench in both the second and fourth periods. Ray Rank led the Indians with 16 points and turned in a superb job on the boards. John Hall followed him in the scoring column with 14 points and Ron Clark tossed in 12. Doyle Rann and Walter Bates scored 9 points each for the Trojans. The Gnadenhutten Reserves (2-1) rolled over the Newcomerstown Reserves (0-1).
