One of the pioneers of the game of basketball who helped put the dribble into basketball 45 years ago, may have the solution to excessive whistle-blowing in the game. Take the dribble out. Col. Harry D. Henshel said recently, "You almost never heard a whistle before we put in the dribble". "The dribble brought the whistle into the game and who wants that"? "But the present crowd wants a fast tempo and we helped bring that about". Henshel represented the AAU at a 1914 meeting to draw up uniform rules. To dribble or not to dribble was the major questions. The dribble was voted on and passed without little trouble.
