60 - Garaway Takes 3rd Win In A Row 11-0 (9-18-59)

SUGARCREEK - Garaway's Pirates (3-0) were bidding for their fourth straight victory of the Fall baseball campaign today when they entertained Hiland's Hawks at Community Park. Yesterday the Pirates turned the trick for the third consecutive time in the County Fall League by blanking Stone Creek (0-3) 11-0 behind the 2-hit pitching of southpaw Dan Bleininger (2-0). He fanned 11 and walked 4. Larry Lorenz (0-2), who received help from Terry Sauser (0-0), was charged with the defeat. The two combined to give up 10 hits. Ben Banks and George Shepler led the Pirate attack when both hit homers in the sixth frame. Both came with no mates aboard. Bud Yakley chipped in with a double and Tom Andrews singled twice, while Shepler added a single to his homer blast to give Bleininger able support at the plate. The Pirates will return to County League action Monday when they entertain Port Washington at 4PM. Stone Creek will host Gnadenhutten.
