A revenge minded Tuscarawas (1-0) (2-0) cage machine never trailed the Gnadenhutten Indians (0-2) (1-4) although the two were close all the way and the game was deadlocked several times in the first half. The balanced scoring attack of the Broncos spelled the difference as three hit in double digits. Junior Duffy Summers led the winners to their second straight victory with 17 points, while Sophomore Phil Meese canned 13. Veteran Gary Caviness hit for 14. John Hall led the Indians with 16 points, while Larry Dichler had 11 and Ron Clark 10. The victory gave the Broncos of Coach Kermit Smulbach a taste of revenge as they snapped a losing streak of nine games to Gnaden. Not since the second game of the 1954-1955 season had Tusky defeated the Indians. It was only last week the same Blue and White got revenge over Midvale after losing 11 straight games to that club. In the Reserve game, Tuscarawas (2-0) bucked Gnaden (2-3) 53-35. The Junior High Gnaden team kept Tusky from a complete sweep by winning 31-19.
