60 - Garaway Tops Strasburg 65-51 (12-2-59)

STRASBURG - Garaway's Pirates (3-0) waxed red hot here last night and rolled to a triumph over the host Strasburg Tigers (0-2). The Pirates fired the nets for a scintillating 49 percent mark from the field. The Tigers were the direct opposite and ended the night with 29 percent of its shots going true to the mark. Strasburg concentrated its defenses on Pirate center Charles Stingel and "held" him to 12 points. But forward Bob Raber broke loose for his finest performance of the young season by pouring in 18 points. Koran Zehnder who scored 27 points in each of the Pirates' two contests, came through with another outstanding job and tallied 19 markers. Bill Seese paced the Tigers with 19 points and Frank Wallick added 13. The Garaway Reserves (2-1) jumped on the Strasburg Reserves (1-2) 45-33. The Junior High game was won by Strasburg 42-10 as they clobbered Garaway 42-10.
