The stage was set today for the first big Tuscarawas County Class "A" League encounter of the year. It will pair Garaway and Tuscarawas Valley on the former's court next Friday night.

Last night, Garaway extended its season victory skein to five straight by rolling past Port Washington 78-47 for its second league triumph. The Trojans were involved in non-league action with Dennison and squeaked out a 58-53 victory. It is 4-0 for the season and 1-0 in the league. Garaway tangles with rugged West Lafayette tonight and a victory would pit two unbeatens in the big battle. In other league games last night Baltic was defeated 66-61 by Midvale, Stone Creek dropped a 72-47 verdict to Tuscarawas and Gnadenhutten turned in a surprise 72-42 waltz over Strasburg. The Baltic-Midvale game, according to reports, turned into a foul shooting jamboree for the Blue Devils. The Eagles were tagged with a whooping total of 42 personal fouls by officials Joe Pangrazio and Bob Schumacher. Midvale made 30 of 46 from the free throw line, the big reason for its second win in 6 outings.
