PORT WASHINGTON - Schools in the Salem-Washington District are starting today with dismissal scheduled at 3PM. Regular opening and closing times will be 8:40AM and 3:35PM, respectively. School buses will follow the same routes and trips as last year. The Washington Township school cafeteria will open the first day of school. A hot lunch will cost 30 cents, a half-pint of milk 3 cents. Parents receiving an immunization and vaccination form are urged to complete and return each form with each child as soon as possible. Student insurance - $1.50 for pupils in Grades 1-3 and $2 in Grades 9-12 - will start when the premium is paid. Premiums must be paid before September 11.
