The Gnadenhutten Indians (1-1) edged Port Washington's Purple Riders (0-2) Friday on the baseball diamond for their first win of the season. Dave Struchen (1-0) was the winning hurler, while Jim Bender (0-2) was the losing moundsmen. Struchen gave up four hits, walked seven and struck out eight. Bender was tagged for seven safeties, walked two and struck out five. Dick Shull had two for three for the winners, while John Landon had two for four for Port.
