MIDVALE - Strasburg (2-2) and Midvale (1-4), two long-time basketball rivals, settled the first half of their 1959-1960 meetings at the foul line here last night as the Tigers picked up the victory. The Tigers canned 12 of 18 tries, while the Blue Devils were successful on only 8 of 27. Strasburg, which evened its season record also ended a 2-game losing streak to the Blue Devils. The latter went down to its fourth defeat in five outings. Larry Wallick and Jim Davis came off the bench in the second period for the Tigers to replace foul ridden teammates Walt Krantz and Frank Wallick, and turned in splendid performances, a key factor in theTiger victory. Midvale had a slight edge in final percentages. The Devils made 20 of 50 shots for 40 percent, while the Bengals connected on 22 of 61 attempts for 37 percent. Strasburg grabbed off 21 offensive and 25 defensive rebounds,with Davis taking the majority. The Blue Devils' veteran ace, Ron Breniser, nabbed scoring laurels with 22 points, Neil Beans added 12. Bill Seese paced the Tigers with 15, while Wallick added 14. Strasburg Reserves (2-2) picked up the victory over the Midvale Reserves (2-3) 36-31.
