BALTIC - Garaway (2-0) rolled past Baltic (2-1) yesterday in a battle of unbeatens in the County Fall Baseball League. Charles Stingel (1-0) hurled the Pirates to their second straight triumph, while sending the Eagles to their first loss in three starts. The veteran Pirate ace struck out 8 and walked 6. John Rice (2-1) absorbed his first loss. He permitted 10 hits, fanned 9 and walked 3. The Pirates started and finished fast, chalking up three runs in each of the first and last frames.

Tom Andrews doubled with the bases loaded, emptying the sacks to pace the first-inning uprising. Dan Bleininger doubled to open the last frame and advanced on Koran Zehnder's single. Andrews then drove in his fourth run of the day with a single and scored, along with Zehnder, on a single by Bob Tidrick. Also aiding the Pirate attack was Bud Yakley with two singles. Gary Gerber doubled and Gary Mast and Willis Mullett chalked up two singles apiece for Baltic.

Garaway returns to action at Sugarcreek Community Park Thursday at 4PM when it hosts Stone Creek. A game with Hiland's Hawks has been scheduled for Friday at 4. Baltic will entertain Gnadenhutten Thursday as it bids to regain the win trail.
