67 - Tusky Jabs Jewett 81-72 (1-28-67)

TUSCARAWAS - Tuscarawas Broncos (8-7) had one of their hottest nights of the season Saturday night and handed the Jewett Wildcats a 9-point defeat.  The Broncos jumped to a 23-15 first quarter lead and were never headed except for a tie score at the half.  The constant parade to the foul line piled the score as Tusky reaped 23 of 32 and Jewett 18 of 35.

Top offensive performances by Brent Lehigh with 29 and John Bihari 24, kept the nets sizzling for the Tuscarawas quintet.  Every player on both teams hit the scoring column as a consistent barrage  of points kept the fans on edge.  Jewett also displayed a balanced attack as 3 starters joined the double figure group.  Rick Harkins with 21, Scott Samples 18 and Randy Schultz with 13 provided plenty of trouble for the men of Head Coach Lyle Matlick.  Action shots found Tusky hitting 29 of 77 for 37 percent and Jewett 26 of 91 for 29 percent as both combinations never missed an opportunity to fire at the basket.  The Broncos outrebounded their foes to the tune of 52 to 34, with Lehigh leading both sides with 17.

The Tuscarawas Reserves (11-4) continued to roll as they blasted the Jewett Reserves 52-27.
