67 - Strasburg Slams Northwest 101-36 (12-10-66)

STRASBURG - In ho hum fashion Strasburg (3-0) breezed over Stark County's Northwest by 65-points Saturday night for the Tiger's 3rd straight victory.  Strasburg, which travels to Tuscarawas Friday night for a Tuscarawas County Class A League game, failed to set any records with its output, however.  In recent years the century mark has been a fairly comonplace occurrence for theTigers.  It defeated Baltic 122-45 on December 6, 1963.  Last January Strasburg lost 112-85 to Dalton and other previous 100-plus performances were 101-60 over Gnadenhutten on January 8, 1965 and 102-46 over Conotton Valley on February 2, 1963.

John Studer and Charlie Jones tallied over half of Strasburg's points between them.  Studer scored 31 and grabbed 15 of the Tigers' 67 rebounds, while Jones meshed 24.  Rounding out the Tigers' doublefigure scoring was Ed Rusk's 14 points.  Ron Swager was high for the  Indians with 11 points.  To surpass the century mark Strasburg fired in 40 of 61 field goal tries for a sizzling 66 percent, while making 21 of 37 foul shots.  The Tigers had only 11 turnovers.  Northwest made but 11 of 44 from the floor for 25 percent and 14 of 31 charity pitches.

The Northwest Reserves also lost their game to the mighty Strasburg Reserves (3-0) 56-32.  The Strasburg Reserves have scored 154 points , while their opponents scored only 66 points at this point.
