STRASBURG - The sweet taste  of revenge belonged to the Strasburg Tigers (8-0) last night as they bopped previously-unbeaten Dalton (8-1) to make amends for one of their worst defeats in history at the hands of the Bulldogs last year.  Firing a red-hot 50.7 percent from the field, the Tigers jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead and were never headed in extending their unbeaten streak to 8 games.  In the 1st quarter, the charges of Charley Huggins hit on 9 of 15 action shots to take a 24-12 margin at the break.  John Studer, who potted 9 points, was whistled for his 3rd personal with 1:46 remaining  in the frame and was held to 13 points overall.  He fouled out with 4:10 to go in the game after sitting out the entire 2nd quarter.

Charle Jones was the fireball for the locals, making his first 10 field goal attempts before missing a jumper from the key with 4:47 remaining in the contest.  He ended with a total of 25 markers, making 12 of 14 floor flings.  Three other Tigers also hit double figures, with Senior Ed Rusk coming  through with one of his finest performances of the year, with 23 points.  Ed Yackey hit for 15 and Gene Bayer 10.  The Tigers were never in their slimmest lead.  The biggest lead was in the 3rd frame when the hosts gained a 57-36 advantage via Rusk's layup with 3:58 to go in the quarter.  Dalton lost 2 via the foul route, with leading scorer Mark Berg, who connected for 22 markers and Fred Blosser leaving  the contest in the late  going.

For the night, Strasburg hit on 35 of 69 action shots, while adding 18 of 27 from the charity stripes.  Dalton, which had 2 other players hit in double figures...Larry Huff with 17 and Bob Zuercher with 16, ended with 42.9 percent from the field.  The Bulldogs could get off only 56 shots against a sticky Tiger defense, hitting on 24.  From the foul lines, they made 20 of 24 attempts.  The Tigers manhandled the guests on the boards, ending with a 35-17 margin.  Yackey led the way with 16 rebounds, while Zuercher grabbed 5 to lead the Bulldogs.  Strasburg hosts Hiland Thursday in hopes of evenging 2 regular season setbacks handed to them by the Hawks last year.

The Dalton Reserves handed the Strasburg Reserves their very 1st lost of the season when they clipped Strasburg 34-32.
