MIDVALE - The red-hot Midvale Blue Devils (3-3) ripped Scio's previously unbeaten Panthers here Saturday night to make it 2 in a row for the Blue Devils. After a close 1st quarter the Blue Devils began rolling as Mike DeMattio, Bob Carlisle and Lee Eberly began to rip the nets for a total of 59 of the team's 73 points. Carlisle led the attack with 26 followed by DeMattio and Eberly with 22 and 11. The Panthers were able to connect on only 21 of 52 action shots as compared to 29 of 69 for the Blue Devils. Jim Allensworth led the way for the Panthers with 17 points and pulled in 10 of the teams' 30 rebounds. Rick White was able to muster 15 and Rich Downs 11 points for Scio to aid in the losing cause. The Blue Devils were 15 of 31 from the foul line and the Panthers a good 14 of 19. Carlisle was the man of the hour under the boards for the Blue Devils as he pulled in 16 of Midvale's 42 rebounds.
The Midvale Reserves (4-2) beat back the Scio Reserves 32-25.
