67 - Strasburg Rolls Again Over Tuscarawas Valley 74-36 (1-27-67)

Larry Adams of Tuscarawas Valley looses possession of the basketball in a scramble under the boards with Strasburg's John Studer (23) and Gene Bayer (31).

Ed Yackey (53) of Strasburg leaps high to let loose with a jump shot after taking a rebound against TV despite the defense efforts of Trojan Larry Adams.  In the background is Mike Rieger (41) of the Bengals.

ZOARVILLE - The mighty Strasburg Tigers (5-0) (15-0) scored their 2nd win of the season over host TV last night to keep its unblemished record.  It was a 38-point victory at the end, but Head Coach Charlie Huggins modestly pointed to his defense which limited the Trojans to 8 points in the 4th quarter.  In spite of the fine defensive performance, the offensive thrust could not be denied as the Tigers pumped in 31 of 58 attempts from the floor for a fine 53 percent.  Once again it was All-Ohio John Studer who turned in a magnificent performance with 35 points and 18 rebounds.  Charlie Jones canned 13 for the only other Bengal to hit the column of double figures.  The Trojan offense was led by Larry Adams with 11.  Dick Harvey followed with 8.  Adams also led his team in the rebounding department with 5 of the 25, the Valleymen were able to pull down.  Studer's hot hand last night was the single-game high this season and brings his point total to an even 400 with 3 games remaining on the season schedule.

The Strasburg Reserves (13-1) continued their pace by crushing the Tuscarawas Valley Reserves (6-6) 41-26.
