67 - Gnaden Captures Win At Conotton Valley 58-57 (1-21-67)
BOWERSTON - Gnadenhutten (6-7) held on long enough to clip Conotton Valley (7-7) on Saturday night. Statistic wise, the contest was one of the most even played duels of the current campaign. Both clubs hit the scoreboard with 24 field goals and each team hit 50 percent from the charity stripe. Gnaden connected on 10 of 20 and Conotton on 9 of 18. Dan Jinks and Bill Kohl led the Tribe with 21 and 12. Keith Leggett, Rocket forward, was the thorn in the Indians' side as he found the range for 24. Ken Beamer canned 14. Beamer fouled out with 3 minutes left in the 4th period. With 6 seconds on the clock, Gnaden held a 58-55 lead. Coach Jim Lower called a time out and instucted his Braves not to foul. Conotton scored its last 2 points, but it was too late to grasp the victory. Again, there was no indication of a Reserve game.
