67 - Port Washington Tops Gnadenhutten 76-54 (12-10-66)
GNADENHUTTEN - Port Washington (4-2), after leading Gnadenhutten only 46-45 entering the final quarter, had its firing irons heated and went on to chalk up a vicory over Gnadenhutten (1-2) Saturday night. During the final quarter the Tribe lost its chief marksman, Dan Jinks and another starter, Don Finnicum, via the 5-foul route. Port is at Midvale Friday night for a county league game, while Gnaden hosts Newcomerstown Saturday.
Jinks, despite leaving the game, led all scorers with 27 points and Bill Kohl added 11. Leading the way for the Purple Riders was Jeff Huston's 23 points. Jerry Stephens added 16 and Tim Page 13. Port blistered the nets for 47 percent of its floor shots, hitting 27 of 57,while the Indians managed to make only 21 of 67 for 31 percent. Gnadenhutten connected 12 times in 21 foul tries and Port on 23 of 31. Kohl snared 10 of Gnaden's 27 rebounds and Huston had 9 of Port's 27.
All we know about the Reserve game is that the Port Washington won. Port is now 3-3 and Gnaden is 0-2.
