67 - Midvale Romps Over Malvern 63-44 (1-6-67)

MIDVALE - Midvale's Blue Devils (7-3) rolled to their 7th win last night when they romped over the Malvern Green Hornets (2-6).  Never trailing in the game, the Blue Devils steamed quarter margins of 16-10, 34-20 and 44-32.  Tom Booth and Lee Eberly shared scoring honors for the victors with 16 points apiece.  Mike DeMattio and Bob Carlisle followed with 13 and 10 markers.  For the Hornets, Glenn Clark was top man with 12, ahead of Dan Wackerly and Herman Brown who had 11 and 10 in that order.  From the field, Midvale managed 26 of 67 for 39 percent, while Malvern connected on 18 of 43 for 42 percent.  At the foul line, the Blue Devils were 11 of 19 and the Hornets 8 of 12.  Midvale outrebounded Malvern 34 to 24, with DeMattio pulling down 15 for honors.  Clark had 9 for Malvern.  Turnovers proved costly for the losers as they lost the ball on 26 occasions, while Midvale was guilty of only 14.  Midvale will entertain Ridgewood tonight, its 8th home game in a row.  All 7 of the Devils' victories have come in the friendly confines of their own gymnasium.  The Green Hornets will host Kidron Central Christian tonight.
