67 - Midvale Mauls Ridgewood 71-41 (1-7-67)







MIDVALE - A 9-game home stand for Midvale's Blue Devils (8-3) ends Friday night when Strasburg invades for a game that will probably determine the Tuscarawas County Class A League Championship.  Both teams are undefeated in loop competition with the Tigers standing at 3-0 and Midvale at 2-0.  Saturday Midvale hits the road for the 1st time since December 2nd when it lost 63-35 at Strasburg.  The Devils will be at Lakeland.  Saturday night Midvale racked up its 7th straight victory and 8th in 11 games when it overpowered Ridgewood.

Head Coach Pete Hilliard's combination jumped off to a 21-13 first period lead, held a slim 33-29 halftime margin, then outscored the invaders 18-4 in the 3rd to roll to the decision.  Lee Eberly, Tom Booth and Bob Carlisle sparked the triumph, scoring 20, 15 and 14 points, respectively.  Mike Hendricks had 11 and Tim Jackson 10 points for Ridgewood.  Eberly also had 12 rebounds and Carlisle 10 for the winners with Jackson gathering 11 for the Generals.  Midvale made 31 of 77 action shots for 44 percent and 9 of 15 throws.  Ridgewood was 17 of 51 for 33 percent and 7 of 24 at the foul line.

The Ridgewood Reserves nipped the Midvale Reserves (6-5) 43-42 in the initial game of the night.
