67 - From...The Sidelines With Jerry Armstrong
DOVER - Dan Andreas, a 1966 Garaway graduate is a starting forward on Ohio State's Freshman basketball squad and according to reports is fairing well. Coach Bob Burkholder commented he "has done a real good job and we are well pleased with his performance." Marv Homan of State's athletic publicity office reports, "Dan has surprised a lot of people. He is our 3rd highest scorer with a 14.2 average per game." Homan went on to explain that the Freshman Team has had 3 intramural type games before Buckeye home varsisty games, the next being Saturday afternoon. Also seeing action on the unbeaten team is Carey Kolmback of Coshocton. Andreas has collected 43 points thus far with a 16 point outburst on December 23rd being his highest single performance. A breakdown of games shows him making a total of 19 of 41 action shots for a fine 46.3 percent, grabbing 10 offensive and 18 defensive rebounds and canning 5 of 6 charity tosses. He was named to the 1st team All-Ohio squad as a Junior and was a member of the 2nd team as a Senior. He scored 508 points as a Senior last year, 343 as a Junior and 148 as a Sophomore.
