67 - Midvale Surprises Port Washington 81-56 (12-16-66)








MIDVALE - The Midvale Blue Devils (1-0) (2-3) outgoaled Port Washington (0-1) (4-3) 38 to 20 enrouteto its smashing victory.  The Blue Devils had a 3-man scoring attack for the fans, with Bob Carlisle leading the pack with 26, all fielders.  Mike DeMattio was next in line with 20 markers and Tom Booth with 16.  The Purple Riders were led by Tim Page, who scored 16 and Jeff Huston with 11.  Midvale, shooting 38 of 88 for 43 percent, led at all quarter stops, 20-14, 34-21 and 57-36.  Port was able to manage 20 of 64 for 31 percent.  Midvale attempted only 9 charity tosses, making good on 5 of them, while Port made 16 of 30.  The Blue Devils led the Riders in rebounds 44 to 28.  Carlisle pulled down 23 caroms, more than half the team had.  Huston had 10 to top Port.  Midvale committed 3 turnovers, while Port was guilty of 15.

The Midvale Reserves (3-2) toppled the Port Washingotn Reserves (3-4) 64-42.
