67 - Conotton Valley Edges Tuscarawas Valley 44-42 (12-17-66)








BOWERSTON - No more and no less than 4 points ever separated TV (1-3) and Conotton Valley (4-3) here Saturday night.  And in a spinetingling thriller, the Rockets racked up a 2-point win.  With 2 seconds remaining to play the Rockets' 6-2 Junior forward, Fred Strawser, swished a pair of free throws to account for the victory margin.  Gary Palmer led Conotton's attack with 18 points, while Kenny Beamer added 16.  High for theTrojans were Larry Adams and Curt Norris with 15 and 11, respectively.  For  the 2nd consecutive game TV outgoaled its opponents only to bow at the foul line.  The Trojans, who had a 17-14 goal edge over Garaway Friday night, had a 17-12 margin on the Rockets.  But Conotton Valley made 20 of 29 charity tosses and the Trojans only 8 of 24.  Tuscarawas Valley's goals came in 64 tries for 26 perent.  The Rockets weren't much better trying 41 for 29 percent.  Adams and Howard Haut had 7 rebounds each as Tuscarawas Valley gathered in 24.  Beamer accounted for 12 of Conotton's 28.

The Conotton Valley Reserves defeated the Tuscarawas Valley Reserves (2-2) 43-28.
