67 - Garaway's Defense Downs Tusky 46-30 (1-13-67)

SUGARCREEK - Garaway's Pirates (3-1) (10-1) notched their 10th win of the season, ripping the Tuscarawas Broncos (1-2) (6-5) last night.  The Pirates were guided by 5-11 Sophomore Tim  Miller, who hit on 8 of 12 action shots for 16 points.  Don Richardson followed with 10.  Defense was the key in the game as the Pirates held the Broncos to 18 points in the 1st half and 12 in the last.  Brent Lehigh was the only Bronco to hit in double figures as he canned 10 points.  The Pirates hit 18 of 52 from the field and the Broncos had a dismal 12 of 58.  Garaway was 10 of 22 from the foul line and the Broncos 6 of 11.  Kim Sedwick and Don Richardson each gathered in 8 of the Pirates 34 rebounds.  Fred Rausch pulled in 7 of the Broncos 24 rebounds.  On a man-to-man situation, Head Coach Glen Bower of the  Pirates stated that Errol Miller and Sedwick did a good job on defense holding Lehigh and Rausch to 10 and 4 points as did the whole team in the Bronco 30 point output.

The Garaway Reserves (9-2) picked up their 9th win by closing out the Tuscarawas Reserves (8-3) 48-34 and denying Tusky of their 9th of the season.
