65 - Tusky Valley Shows Tuscarawas The Door 6-4 (4-28-65)







"It was this high," Tuscarawas Valley's Ray Nist tells teammates Fred Clugston, Joe Duebner and Bill Johnson before yesterday's tournament game against Tuscarawas.  The Trojans won 6-4.

GNADENHUTTEN - The other game at Gnaden was Tuscarawas Valley (1-1) getting by Tuscarawas 2-3) for their first tournament win.  Gary Adams (1-1) hurled for Tuscarawas Valley fanning 9 and passing 7.  Dave Paisley took the loss, whiffing 12, walking 4 and hitting a batter.  In the Trojan 6th, Clugston walked, Ray Nist singled and Bill Johnson reached ona fielder's choice.  Two passed balls enabled 2 alert Trojans to scamper home.  Dan Burrier then singled to send in Johnson, Locker walked and Joe Duebner's long fly to left was dropped to allow 2 more runners to score.  The Broncos rallied  to score 3 runs in the final frame and had the bases full when Adams struck out Tom Johnson to preserve the victory.
