65 - Baltic Puts Down Seton Catholic 52-43 (2-16-65)

NEW PHILADELPHIA - Baltic (4-14), which finds itself in a quarterfinals spot ready to battle the Tuscarawas-Dennison St. Mary winner February 27 took a 10-point lead against Seton Catholic (6-12) late in the 3rd canto, 34-24 and hiked it to 48-34 late in the final frame as it won its 1st post-season game since it whipped Strasburg 44-42 in 1962.  Hard-working Keith Miller paced the 3rd period surge with 8 points.  Teammate Jeff Schlarb added 7.  Miller took scoring honors for the game with 18 tallies and tied teammate Gus Regula for rebound laurels at 9.  Schlarb ended with 14 markers.  Jim Olsheski, 6-3 Panther, got 12 points.  Rick Polczynaki's Eagles outrebounded Seton 32-24; although, not having nearly as much height.  Schlarb put the Eagles on top to stay when he sank a pair of long jump shots to make the count 22-18 just before the half.  The Panthers were able to muster just 15 "hits" in 40 floor flings for 37 percent.  They were 13 for 24 at the foul lines.  Baltic was 14 for 25.  Twenty turnovers played havoc with the Panther offensive .  Baltic committed 11.
