65 - On The Diamond - Gnadenhutten Indians

GNADENHUTTEN - When area sports fans think of spring and baseball, talk usually starts out with the name Gnadenhutten.  The Indians perennial are solid baseballers and this season expect another fine record as 9 lettermen are at Coach Ted Martin's disposal.  At the top of the list is 3-year veteran Terry Huebner, a Senior who pitches and plays second base.  There is a quintet of 2-year lettermen Seniors:

Gene Bates - First Base
Gary Rice - Pitcher and Shortstop
Roy Williams - Third Base
Jim Jinks - Pitcher
Ray Williams - Outfielder

Winners of numerals for the first time last season and ready to give  it another whirl are:

Senior Brice Miller - Outfielder
Senior Fred Glass - Outfielder
Sophomore Bill Kohl - Pitcher

Those who didn't letter, but seeking jobs are:

Sophomore Dan Jinks - Catcher
Sophomore Wayne Martin - Outfield
Sophomore Steve Moore - Outfield

Dan Jinks and Martin are expected to start, with Moore seeing plenty of duty on the basis of a strong bat.  Both the infield and pitching corps are listed as solid by Martin, with the outfield right behind.  Lost from last season's team are:

Bruce Kohl
Larry Rentsch
Art Rauzi
Wally Mullaney
Danny Williams
